The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional holiday that is celebrated in various East Asian countries on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. The festival is believed to have originated to commemorate the life and achievements of a famous poet and minister named Qu Yuan, who lived during the Warring States period.
The festival is celebrated with a variety of customs and traditions, the most popular of which are dragon boat racing and eating sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. It was believed that by throwing rice balls wrapped in leaves into the water would prevent fish and other creatures from eating the body of Qu Yuan.
In modern times, the Dragon Boat Festival is widely celebrated as a time for family reunions, cultural festivities, and the promotion of traditional values.

倫敦過端午節無得游龍舟水，但喺食糉一定唔少得！我哋今次會舉行包糉工作坊。另外市集仲集合左各款小食，有炸大腸，雞蛋仔，仲有過江龍台式滷肉飯同蚵仔煎。記得留肚出席啦！
